It’s finally here: WordCamp Vancouver 2015. Welcome, everyone! Here’s some additional information and reminders to make the most out of your stay with us this weekend.
Code of Conduct
We want everyone who participates in WordCamp Vancouver to have a safe, enjoyable experience. Our Code of Conduct extends to all attendees, speakers, and organizers, so please be sure to give it a read before arriving. Volunteers and organizers will all be wearing purple WordCamp shirts over the weekend in case you have any concerns. Also feel free to email support@wordcamp.org – your feedback is very welcome.
Location and Registration
BCIT and WordCamp registration will be open as of 8am at 555 Seymour Street in downtown Vancouver. From the front door, follow the WordCamp signs up the escalator to the right.
For a helpful map and more details about getting around town and to the venue, see Accommodations and Transportation and our About page.
Schedule
The schedule is on our website, with opening remarks at 8:50am in the downstairs room and the closing remarks set at 5pm. The after-party will be from 6-9pm (see below). Contributor Day on Sunday will be from 10am-4pm.
Catering
There will be coffee and some pastries (including gluten-free muffins) available during registration and we’ll be serving a proper lunch at 12pm.
No catering will be offered during the contributor day on Sunday but there are plenty of nearby cafes and affordable restaurants; a volunteer or organizer would be happy to make suggestions.
After-party
The after-party will be upstairs at the Rogue, 601 West Cordova Street (same venue as last year) from 6-9pm. Here is a map from BCIT to the Rogue.
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, we’ll be serving some appetizers (including some vegan- and gluten-free friendly options) and two drinks on the house.
Please note that while an I.D. is not required to be present at the after party, the restaurant may require 2 pieces of I.D. if you’re going to be drinking alcohol. Drinking age in B.C. is 19.
Thank you!
We, the organizers and volunteers of WordCamp Vancouver, have been looking forward to this weekend for a long time. Thanks and we’ll see you tomorrow!
