He is passionate about educating others on how to get the most out of their WordPress websites and supports others in creating thriving businesses.

Ann Beaudet

Ann started a WordPress blog called Annhoy.com in 2012, as a non-tech-savvy mom of three sons.  She thought nobody would read her blog, but it quickly got a million views. Her passion for blogging gave her the confidence to become an author, speaker, and educator. Her first book is on Amazon, and her debut novel is currently being published. Ann lives in Cloverdale B.C

Anne Emberline

Anne Emberline is a graphic designer with thirteen years of experience, including work for international brands like Jenny Craig, Miz Mooz, and Martin Lindstrom. She started coding websites twenty years ago when the internet was still a baby and moved into custom coding WordPress themes a few years later. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in visual arts and now specializes mainly in web design and branding, though her current focus is in education. She is currently head of the Digital Media Design department at VCC, where she runs the Graphic Design Diploma program and teaches UI/UX and web development.

Bruce Chamoff

Bruce Chamoff has been a web developer for over 22 years and has worked on over 1,000 websites. He has worked on WordPress since 2006 building themes and plugins for Fortune 500 companies as well as mom and pop shops. His Udemy courses have taught WordPress development to web designers in over 150 countries as he loves to teach! He also is a songwriter and has five albums.

Chris David Miles

Chris is a Product Manager for Bluehost in Salt Lake City, Utah. He has done freelance web design and front-end development for over a decade. He discovered WordPress in 2011 and has used it to build sites for clients and non-profits ever since.

Christina Varro

For almost 18 years, I have worked in web, digital media, and communications. I have also spent a decade running my own freelance business, managing projects for clients, giving creative direction, building websites and crafting digital media solutions using WordPress. I am passionate about sharing my experience and educating others with inspiring and practical advice, to build better websites and run their businesses more efficiently.

David Ryan

Dave Ryan is an Interdisciplinary WordPress Developer at Bluehost, where he focuses on helping build WordPress and supporting the WordPress community. In the past, Dave has worked for large publishers and universities, scaling high-traffic WordPress sites by blending his skills in information design, journalism and web development. Dave lives in Phoenix, loves a good taco and will like every photo of your dog on Instagram.

Dwayne McDaniel

Dwayne McDaniel has been working in tech and open source since 2005.  Once he dipped a toe into the world of Free and Open Source Software, he knew never wanted to work outside of it again. Over he developed a passion for optimizing business processes and project workflows. He has since founded Process Digital Consulting to focus on helping people design internal procedures to improve productivity. Ernest Smuga

Ernest has worked on and/or built dozens of publically shared free and paid plugins plus many more custom plugins specific to clients’ needs. His main line of focus is plugin development and code architecture. He is passionate about bug-free code and proper code structure. On his free time, Ernest loves to mountain climb and work on his farm sanctuary in Nelson, BC.

Jay Holtslander

Jay has been involved in the software industry and with websites for over 20 years. During that time, he has co-founded several startups and companies, including one of Vancouver’s oldest game studios and one of Canada’s first accredited coding schools. Currently, he works in Gastown as the technical lead for an agency that specializes in legal marketing. His role is to keep the day-to-day technical operations of the agency as well as their client’s web presence running smoothly and efficiently. Jay is fanatical about technology and enjoys bringing new technical skills to those eager to learn.

Jeremy Felt

Jeremy Felt is a web developer and co-owner of Happy Prime, a strategic web agency. He created VVV, an open-source development environment for WordPress now led by two (fantastic) lead developers. He has been contributing to WordPress for seven years and spent much of that time exploring multisite’s depths, problems, and possibilities. Jeremy believes in community, sharing your work, and free and open-source software. He enjoys finding ways to solve problems in all three.

Josh Loewen

Josh Loewen is a co-founder of The Status Bureau, an SEO-focused digital marketing agency in Vancouver. Since 2006, it has worked with organizations including Destination Canada, London Drugs, Telus, the Vancouver Fringe Festival and Vancouver Mural Fest. Josh also owns and operates close to a dozen WordPress websites across many verticals.

Kelli Wise

Kelli Wise is a WordPress web designer and educator working to help small business owners and nonprofits be successful on the web. She is active in her local WordPress community and a regular speaker at meetups and WordCamps. Before becoming a web developer, Kelli was an electrical engineer designing hardware for computers. Mari Kane

Mari Kane works as a web designer, editor, front-end developer, occasional photographer, and WordPress trainer. In 2013, she released the groundbreaking ebook, Create a WordPress Website in Ten Easy Steps. The companion videos are posted on her Blogsite Studio channel on YouTube. She then released the follow-up ebook, Escalate Your WordPress Website: Twelve Ways to Blog at a Higher Level. In 2017 she released Secure Your WordPress Website: How to Protect Yourself from Hackers, Spammers, Scrapers, and Imbeciles, all of which she offers on her BlogsiteStudio.com blog. Michaël Perrin

I am a full-stack web developer from France, currently living in Texas. I have developed an expertise on the Symfony framework for backend, and on React for frontend development. Focusing on the quality and sustainability of the projects I work on is part of what makes me love programming, and I enjoy introducing tools and technologies that will serve that purpose. My story with WordPress was a love and hate affair… until recently. It was an excellent choice for some of my projects, and my other development background allowed me to explore different approaches with it.

Morten Rand-Hendriksen

Morten is a senior staff instructor at LinkedIn Learning (formerly Lynda.com) with 60+ courses published on WordPress, web standards, design and UX, and future technologies. His current focus is design- and tech-ethics and how emerging technologies will shape our collective futures. Morten occasionally teaches Interaction Design at Emily Carr University of Art and Design, contributes to WordPress core and community projects, and wears out his shoes on the ballroom dance floor. In his spare time, you’ll find him playing with his son or trying to take things apart and putting them together again.

Nicolas Demers

Nicolas started building HTML pages in in the 90’s, and has over a decade’s experience in WordPress, Drupal and other Web technologies. He is currently employed as a senior developer at Carbon60 where he helps build custom sites for clients. In his spare time, Nicolas enjoys playing volleyball and indulging his passion for photography.

Richard Gilbert

I am a front-end WordPress and Drupal developer with over 20 years of experience and a background in film, photography, and urban design. When I am not in front of my trusty MacBook Pro, I can often be found at Seattle’s nonprofit Grand Illusion Cinema, where I volunteer as a projectionist. I hold a BA in Media Study from SUNY Buffalo and a Master of Urban Planning from the University of Washington. Rose Cass

Rose currently is a Front-End Developer at Redstamp, a marketing agency located in beautiful Port Moody. Previous to Redstamp, Rose worked as the Lead Instructor of Web Development at Red Academy. Other companies that Rose has worked for include Ladies Learning Code, Affinity Bridge and Raised Eyebrow. When not in front of her computer, she can be found running far, far away from it, and probably training for her next marathon.

Sara Mansouri

I am a web developer at STEMCELL Technologies working on different enterprise and customer-facing projects. I did my MSc. in the University of Saskatchewan working on Gamification, using game techniques in non-game system to make them more fun and engaging. My interest in the topic stems from working for LG in Iran, where I did research for designing LG customer club. I also worked with Mozilla on Badges project and Community building for Firefox localization. In my free time, I enjoy working on crafts, travelling, dancing, and swimming to cover four types of fun that I will talk about in my presentation!

Scott Saunders

My name is Scott Saunders, and I’ve been doing WordPress development for the past 12 years.  When I build stuff with WordPress, I am trying to push the envelope to see what new things I can make it do. I’ve built Roku and Amazon Fire channels, a sudo streaming video service, presentation tools, digital signage creation and management, iOS web-based apps, digital sales tools, and an archiving tool for public domain films, old time radio shows and pulp magazines available at dieselpunkindustries.com and pulplibrary.com. Currently, I am a front end developer for DBCNext in Greensboro NC.
