WordCamp Vancouver is Tomorrow!

We hope you are looking forward to WordCamp Vancouver tomorrow as much as we are! Here is some basic information to help you plan for tomorrow:

Code of Conduct

We want everyone who participates in WordCamp Vancouver to have a safe, enjoyable experience. Our Code of Conduct extends to all attendees, speakers, sponsors, volunteers and organizers, so please be sure to read it over before arriving.

Need help?

Volunteers and organizers will all have distinct name badges so if you have any questions or concerns during the event please do not hesitate to talk to them. There will always be an organizer or volunteer at registration throughout the event too.

Location

WordCamp Vancouver 2019 will take place at UBC Robson Square (800 Robson Street). Go through the doors next to the ice rink and follow the signs down the stairs. If coming by elevator go to the Classroom level. Directions, information on parking and transit, and a map of the location can be found on this UBC Robson Square page.

Schedule

The schedule is on the website and will be on posters at the event. Registration begins at 8am with the first sessions beginning at 9am. Still trying to decide what sessions to attend, check out some of our sample itineraries.

Catering

Coffee, tea and water will be provided throughout the event. Fruit and sweet bread slices will be available during registration. Lunch will be served at 12pm. Some dips will be provided in the afternoon as well.

After Party

The After Party will be at Rogue Kitchen & Wetbar (601 W Cordova Street) in the upstairs loft starting at 5:30pm. Appetizers will be served and we’ll have drink tickets as well.

Wifi

You can connect to the ‘ubcvisitor’ network on the day of the event.

WordCamp Vancouver 2019 Itineraries

To help you plan what sessions to attend this year we’ve created five categories and placed each session into at least one category. The Categories are:

We will have the following poster up at registration and in front of each room to help you decide what topics would be beneficial to you. You can also scroll past it to see some suggested itineraries for each category.

A reminder but these are just suggestions you are free to attend any session you’d like at WordCamp Vancouver and we encourage you to try attending topics you’re unfamiliar with to learn something new!

Tickets for WordCamp Vancouver on September 28, 2019 are now on sale! Visit the Tickets page to get your tickets now.

Tickets are only $25 (CAD) and include coffee, lunch, a WordCamp Vancouver 2019 tote bag, an invitation to the after party and of course a full day of networking and sessions on all things WordPress.

Call for Speakers

WordCamp Vancouver is seeking a wide variety of topics and a diversity of speakers to fill three tracks for 2019. Want to share your WordPress know-how or experiences with the community at WordCamp Vancouver this year? We’d love to hear from you!

Selected speakers will get a free ticket to WordCamp Vancouver 2019 and an invitation to the speaker’s dinner the Friday evening before WordCamp Vancouver.

Speaker submissions are open until Monday, July 8, 2019 at 4pm.

Speaker submissions are extended until Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at 10am.

Once the speaker application deadline passes the WordCamp Vancouver organizing team will review the submissions and all applicants will be notified within two weeks. We will request presentation slides for review prior to WordCamp Vancouver and ask you to sign an A/V release form to record and submit your session to WordPress.tv.

If you’d like to propose multiple topics, please submit the form multiple times, once for each topic.
